A Mid-Summer Reset: How to Reconnect With Your Wellness Routine (Without Starting Over)
By Rania Batayneh, MPH
Summer is meant to be enjoyed. The longer days, time spent outside, slower mornings, and little moments that make the season feel special are what make this time of year so memorable.
A mid-summer reset isn't about changing everything or creating a completely new routine. It's about reconnecting with the habits that help you feel your best and making space for the things that help you feel energized throughout the season.
Small Summer Habits That Help Me Feel My Best
🌿 Taking Time to Recharge
One of my favorite parts of summer is creating moments to slow down and reconnect. Whether it's spending time outside, enjoying the sunshine, or making time for a sunrise or sunset swim, these simple moments help me reset and recharge.
Summer doesn't have to be about doing more. Sometimes the best reset comes from creating space to enjoy the season you're already in.
💧 Staying Hydrated
Hydration is one of those everyday habits that makes a big difference, especially during the warmer months. Keeping a refreshing drink nearby, like lemon and mint-infused water, is an easy way to make staying hydrated feel like a small ritual rather than another task on the to-do list.
🐟 Prioritizing Protein
Prioritizing protein is one of the habits I focus on every day because it helps create satisfying meals and snacks that keep me energized throughout the day. I love building meals around nourishing protein sources, like salmon paired with seasonal vegetables, and keeping simple, protein-packed options available when I want something easy.
🥭 Making Room for Enjoyment
A reset should also include the foods you genuinely look forward to. Wellness isn't just about the habits that support you. It's also about enjoying the moments, flavors, and treats that make life feel good.
One of my favorite summer staples is these Frozen High Protein Mango Cloud Bites. They combine juicy mango, creamy yogurt blended with Anea Vanilla Whey Protein Powder, a layer of rich dark chocolate, and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt for a refreshing freezer treat that's both nourishing and satisfying.
Adding Anea Vanilla Whey Protein Powder is an easy way to boost the protein while creating a smooth, creamy filling that pairs perfectly with the sweet mango and dark chocolate. They're simple to make, easy to keep stocked in the freezer, and the perfect snack to enjoy all summer long.
RECIPE:
Frozen High Protein Mango Cloud Bites
These Frozen High Protein Mango Cloud Bites are creamy, refreshing, and the perfect little freezer treat for warm summer days. Made with juicy mango, creamy yogurt blended with Anea Vanilla Whey Protein Powder, a layer of rich dark chocolate, and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt, they're an easy snack that's both nourishing and satisfying.
Ingredients
- 1 large ripe mango, diced into small pieces
- 1½ cups plain yogurt
- 1 scoop Anea Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
- 1½-2 ounces dark chocolate, melted
- Flaky sea salt, for topping
Instructions
- Divide the diced mango evenly among six compartments of a medium silicone ice cube tray, gently pressing it into an even layer.
- Freeze for about 20 minutes, or until the mango is firm.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the yogurt and Anea Vanilla Whey Protein Powder until smooth and creamy.
- Spoon the yogurt mixture evenly over the frozen mango layer.
- Freeze for another 20 minutes, or until the yogurt layer is firm.
- Spoon a thin layer of melted dark chocolate over each bite and immediately sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Return the tray to the freezer for about 15 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely set.
- Remove the bites from the tray and enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to one week.
Recipe Tips
- A medium silicone ice cube tray works best for easy removal.
- Use a ripe mango for the sweetest flavor and best texture.
- The vanilla whey protein naturally sweetens the yogurt, so no additional sweetener is needed.
- For an even bigger protein boost, substitute plain Greek yogurt for regular plain yogurt. Greek yogurt creates a thicker, creamier texture and increases the protein content of each bite.
- Don't skip the flaky sea salt. It balances the richness of the dark chocolate while enhancing the natural sweetness of the mango.
